Most Used Room in My House

Thinking it over, I realized I'm in my "home office" the most. After painting the walls a dark Teal, I've come to love the room even more. I love rearranging furniture, but I've come to enjoy the layout that I have now...

The room is oddly shaped, giving it two spaces in one. There are only two outlets for the entire room so I had to make do with where things can be placed. I got creative, let me tell you.

I created a rough drawing of the room. One outlet is under the window and the other outlet is between the metal drawer and picture tower. I am using extension cords to make the desk work where it is. I lined my desk with the drawers and can see into the living room from where I sit, which is nice because I can have a conversation with my husband from here. And since I don't have a door, I don't have a block. But it's also annoying because anyone can enter the room and distract me.

The cat tower is almost as tall as the bookshelf, which is anchored to the wall so my grandchildren don't knock it over. I have the walls marked that was painted. If you have subscribed to my mailer, I shared pictures with the finished look. The Teal looks amazing but did darken the space a little, which is why only three walls were painted. The other three walls got a fresh coat of white to cover the drawings left behind by the last tenants. This was a child's bedroom and is now my office space. I want to get one more short bookshelf, which will line up between the door and the other bookshelf that's there now.

The milk crates, which are also black to match the other furniture pieces, is where my charging station is. I like it. There's another "six-pack" extension cord there to allow three units to be charged at once. My phone gets charged at my desk. The lamp has an outlet within it.

I won't be changing where the furniture is for this room. I like how it's set up. I feel like I have all this space now, which means I can be productive at any time. That's good for a writer.

What do you think?
