Broken book cover

Join author, A.R. Grosjean on her journey as a survivor of bullying and emotional struggles.
With her underlying message of not giving up, you will find a woman of strength and resilience surrounding her inner turmoil of vulnerability and fragility.

Trigger Warning:
This story contains themes of mental abuse. However, it is told in a gently unfolding, manageable manner
My 5 Star Review:⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Despite the topic being deep and heavy, A.R. Grosjean writes with refreshing honesty. As such, her book, Broken, embraces the genre of autobiography perfectly.
The author takes us on a visual voyage as we see inside her life as an often-overlooked child and, later through the window of her school days, a bullied teenager, into adulthood.
Her childhood questions are never answered and as such she grapples to understand this treatment from people she felt rejected by. Here in lies the author’s inner strength. Recognizing the need to distance herself from the negativity and ensuing hurt, A.R. Grosjean makes a courageous decision to move away from her traitorous past and those who betrayed her.

Why I would recommend this book:
As autobiographies go, you will be hard pressed to find a more apt story told through the eyes of the child becoming the adult. Frightened, brave, questioning, and finally the resolve to never give up. It has everything a reader wants in a personal story.
What I didn’t love about this book:
I was so invested in the author’s story that I didn’t want to wait for the sequel! However, I do understand that it was necessary for the length of Broken and it, in no way, impacted the flow of the story.
Favourite Quotes:

My favourite quote that depicts the author’s sincerity brilliantly:
‘Words are just words until they are backed up by actions.’
A relationship quote that defines young love:
‘I was in love with the idea of being in love.’
Quote that defines mature relationships:
‘It takes two to make a relationship work – any relationship.’
---
Congratulations to A.R. Grosjean for her autobiography, Broken. I feel that it is an important piece of work to get out into the world. It highlights the dangers of bullying and the impact on one's mental health, which is a topic of utmost importance in our society. I was fortunate to read an early copy of Broken, however, you can place your preorders now, with release date being 2 September 2024. LINK to Review  Review on Amazon

"Loved the zany dream logic of this tale"

Reviewed on Goodreads on May 30, 2024 (5 stars)

This is a FREE ebook for all

White rabbits know more than you might think.

I loved the zany dream logic of this tale. Kevin accepted almost everything that happened to him immediately, but he was also struck by the cognitive dissonance the moment he tried to make logical sense of anything. This reminded me of lucid dreaming as well as of how funny it can be to try to describe a wild dream to someone the next morning after you’ve woken up and realized that half of it is rather nonsensical. What made sense while one slept is now confusing, and what was mildly confusing in the moment can feel like mashing six different genres together without any care given to continuity or plot development. It seemed complicated to put together despite being an homage to such a famous story, so I must tip my cap to the author for doing it so well.

There’s nothing like chuckling one’s way through a short story. This was my introduction to Ms. Grosjean’s work, and I already think I’m going to love her sense of humour if I’m lucky enough to read more from her in the future. It was tricky for me to figure out which examples of what she finds funny to include in my review that would give a small hint of what to expect without sharing too many spoilers. Let’s just say that tree huggers have an entirely different connotation in this universe than they do in our own, and I laughed out loud once I figured out what the sentient creatures who lived there thought of them.

The conversations were some of my favourite sections. Sometimes it felt as though Kevin and the various creatures he met on his adventure were speaking two completely different languages due to their different interpretations of the same word and expectations of what might happen next. This is where the author’s writing abilities really shone through the brightest in my opinion. There is nothing like using wordplay to make the audience giggle and nudge the plot forward despite all attempts to grind it to a halt so a caterpillar can pontificate a little longer.

Strange New World was a creative romp through a world many readers already know and love.

A touching story

Reviewed in the United States on March 27, 2024

A Mother’s Pain by A.R. Grosjean is a story of a young mother named Anna who rises above the horrible treatment she receives from her mother. Anna demonstrates grace, compassion, and tolerance way beyond what her mother is able to show. She is steadfast and persistent until she achieves her most important goal. I won’t say more than that because to do so would spoil the plot. I think many women will relate and benefit from reading this short, easy-to-read book.

Murder In The Wind book cover

Review by Pat Spencer (5 stars)

I received an advanced review copy (ARC) of Murder in the Wind by A.R. Grosjean for my honest review.

The author, A.R. Grosjean wove an interesting mystery with Murder in the Wind. I enjoyed how the clues emerged and led me to change my mind several times as to who I thought was the murderer. The plot is well-developed and gives the reader plenty to think about. The links between the cases assigned to the new detective were skillfully developed as were each character with his own problems and foibles.

I appreciated following the action and the detective's thought process through their dealing with police procedures. This novel is a quick read and a lovely way to spend the day.

I enjoyed Murder Through Time by A. R. Grosjean. I always like a time travel story and this one is well done. The characters were interesting with strong personalities. Ms. Grosjean did an admirable job describing the differences between the time period she used in this novel. It is always fun to imagine what things will be like in the future.

Murder Through Time is an easy, smooth, and entertaining read. This book would make a good companion while traveling, especially trying to pass the time in the airport, wishing you could be in some other place at some other time. –Pat Spencer, author of Story of a Stolen Girl

This was a very entertaining read. Considering this was a time travel book I didn't get lost at all it flowed very well. The travels through time were very descriptive and I could see it playing out as a movie. I can't wait to read the next part to see what happens with Marcus, Ryan and Billie .

This time traveling detective story was interesting. I think the writing was a little simple, with too many explanations. But the concept was very good. The characters were introduced well and I look forward to seeing them developing in future stories. The narration was very good. The male voices fit the characters. The lead female voice had great inflection, but was a little high in pitch.

Is someone who travels back into the past to kill the same person over and over and over again a serial killer? Technically yes, I suppose.
This book by A.R. Grosjean is just about perfect.
Marcus travels back in time to catch Ryan, his ex-partner who is now wanted for the multiple murders of a young woman named Billie. Meanwhile, Ryan has travelled back to try and stop the murder, catch the real killer and clear his own name.
They meet up, and decide to join forces, as they attempt to achieve their goal and we are taken along with them on this fantastic journey.
I can’t recommend this book highly enough. I loved it. Even if you are not into sci-fi and time-travelling stories, it is the pace and the excitement as they try to save the girl, that will keep you reading.
I believe there is a sequel coming soon and I will definitely be reading it.

Oh, this is a great thrilling ride, it had you from the start. This book has the making of a movie, a mad man running through time killing a woman again and again. But that's not just it, he is being hunted and tried to be stopped. It is a real can and mouse story I was enthralled. There are a few unanswered questions that I would like to find out more about. Looking forward to book two. It is well written and the imagination is great.

Review by Chad Barrus (5 stars) Aug 7, 2021

This is a suspense cat and mouse chase through time as a deranged man keeps returning to the past to kill a young woman over and over. The question is why and the answer as to who and why will shock you!

I recommend this book for the suspense that our killer generates by altering time in his multiple trips back to different years to kill the woman over and over. He has technology that his pursuers lack so it gives him the upper hand throughout their confrontations. However, one of his pursuers hitches a ride with one of the killers duplicates and with this new technology makes his own journey to try and change events which he believes will prevent the girl from being killed again and again.

Those who are into sci-fi and the idea of time travel will probably appreaciate this book more than a casual reader but even just reading it without that extra appeal will be satisfying as the story moves from a different year previously when the girl is still alive and the lengths these two agents will go to assure she stays alive under their watch!

There is a second book in the works as our protagonist seems to be at it again trying to change time and events so our three intrepid heroes are asked to find and bring him in again. This book will prove more of the same excitement we've just read so it's a book I look forward to reading! I think you'll want to see what happens as well so read this book so we can all find out together what happens next!

This novel is quite unusual for me. Not read a beautiful fairytale in a long time.

It's a beautiful story of a sweet yet energetic girl Maria, Daisy who's a fairy, a gnome- Nemoy ,who is best friend of Daisy.
Daisy didn't like Maria but starts liking her when Maria praises & complimented her wings ( she's over possesive about her wings.)

A war started between humans & fairy tale creatures & Maria plays a role of pacemaker as She makes a gnome sneeze accidently, due to which the treaty between them gets broken.

These friends go on an adventure to speak to the Elders to mend the treaty & to stop the war eventually.

The story is told by Nemoy but I love the chapter where Maria tells the story. She's magical. I felt like hugging this girl.

I loved this cute story. It's not only for kids, we adults can read it too, to revisit our childhood & to get swayed away by dreamy & magical creatures , fairies, unicorns..... As kids we forget about living the real practical life , we just dream & play & used to think to be living in some fairyland or Dreamland.

The author has used simple language .She has dedicated this book to her granddaughter [Alivia].. I'm sure children will love this book

Thank you @a.r.grosjeanauthor

It's a couple of days before Christmas and there isn't any snow! In the Southern Hemisphere, this is normal and expected but in the Northern Hemisphere, it's not. Maria and her fairy tale friends know something is wrong and one sets out to find Jack Frost who brings winter and snow. Maria is told to wait but she can't so she sets off after her friend with some other fairy tale creatures and this is the story of their adventure!

While I was reading it I thought it would be a great way for parents to have some evenings with their kids. They could read a few chapters and tell their little ones the story and as they get older everyone could take turns reading some pages. It'd be a great way to bring the family together and make some lasting memories by doing something as a family!

I recommend this story and any other fairy tales one may have or the classic Walt Disney movies. They were such family favorites and movies one could take the family to and know the entertainment was first rate. It's sad that some company now puts disclaimers on them trying to be woke.

I have always enjoyed fairy tales and even though I'm now up in years I still see and feel the magic when I pick one up. In the negative atmosphere we live in now it's nice to have a place to go that is the same as it was when I once picked up a book and read a fairy tale. I feel good and happy and wish others would feel that way too.

So why not read this story today and then reread your own favorite fairy tales you remember. I'm sure you'll feel better and isn't that what we all want to feel anyway?

Reasons for enjoying this book: Easy-to-read. Entertaining. Happy ever after. Original. Wonderful characters.

First I would like to thank the author for an ARC if this book. Or maybe I should say novella. For so few pages it sure is full of a lot of story. Let's recap. A girl is in a coma. Then we get to see inside her head while she's unconscious. She's traveling with friends ( in her 'dream'), and weird things start happening. She starts uncovering clues that could possibly lead to her salvation.
This story is deep. There's even some symbolism. I have been in a coma before, and this was nothing close to my experience. That's the beauty of fiction. This read is interesting to say the least

Love dragons

While this was in no way the story I expected. It moved along and was ok. A twist on a dragon story for sure. A girl given a potion to make her into a beast. For the crime of love. Fantasy Love Story

A women that is a commoner falls in love with a prestigious man named William. He falls for her, they even end up swimming together and feels much more comfortable around her than a woman that is chosen for him to marry. The woman that's haughty, flaunts a better than thou attitude, and is prim and proper. But when secrets are revealed a spell is put on her, Her lover is dead. Love versus evil spells.
A great tale that turns into another story for you to listen to in audiobook the narrator did a great job too! Just love her accent which takes the story to a whimsical setting.

Punished for the crime of loving!

What can I say? I like dragons. And this book was far from a disappointment. I enjoyed living the story with the characters and felt that there was enough novelty to not be just the same story as always. Loved it!

Great twist on the Creation of Dragons

Love love love this story! Two stories in one both present and past. What a wonderful story this author has written. Definitely recommend this one. The narrator was perfect, I just loved her voice and the magical way she brought the story to life

I enjoyed listening!

This was my first fantasy romance book to try out! I really enjoyed the story. I love dragons to begin with who can resist a love story?! This is a book in my opinion, that both adults and young adults can be captured by as the story moves along. Your imagination can picture the settings as A.R. Grosjean’s descriptions throughout the book set it all nicely.
I am very proud to say I know the author and what a wonderful accomplishment it is to get to experience something she wrote. I look forward to hearing more of her work as it hits audio!

Review by Katie Drake. (3 stars) Jan 27, 2021

A heart-wrenching tale of love, loss, and second chances.

I started reading this story in eBook format and quickly decided to switch to the audio book. The reason was because the story is extremely detailed and I couldn't follow what was going on very well. (That's on me though. My brain naturally skims over the heavily descriptive parts in stories. But I listened to the rest of the story on audible and was able to follow it better that way.)
About the audio first: I thought the narrator did a wonderful job. Her voice suited the story well and brought it to life beautifully, I think.
Now to the story itself. From reading the blurb, I was immediately intrigued by the concept of the story. Fantasy is forever my genre of choice, so I thought this would be a quick and light read.
It was far from that. It was an emotional journey, full of highs, lows, and sweet moments, as well as heartbreaking ones.
It wasn't a long book, but there was a lot of story told in such a short length of pages.
The way it was written was very "tell" not "show." I felt many times as if I was listening to an old Grimm Brothers-esque type fairytale.
Because it was a shorter book, a lot of things happened fast, while others were focused on with immense detail.
Dawnrae's and William's romance was both tender and tragic. They loved each other against all odds, only to be torn apart by duty, loyalty, and even death.
Dawnrae was such a tortured character. My heart broke for her and I hoped as the story continued that it would have a happy conclusion.
That brings me to the ending.
That. Ending.
I did not see it coming.

***Spoilers***
Harrison turning out to be William and breaking Dawnrae's curse was so sweet! I was so happy to see them reunited after everything that happened to them, and to see them get their happily ever after, after all.
The story wasn't perfect, though. (At least to me.) There were a few things throughout that I had qualms about.
It wasn't shown but mentioned and then implied a few times, but Dawnrae and William had been intimate at one point. There was also a scene shown where the two swam together naked in the river. It was mentioned they had done that a few times before.
Pretty much everyone knew about Dawnrae and William being intimate, and when it's discussed by a family member to Dawnrae, it's dismissed as acceptable because they were in love, which I understand considering the story and the characters, but it seemed odd to me because of the type of time period and setting of the story.
Dawnrae and Adela, who was William's betrothed, were at odds throughout the whole beginning of the story. It was so bad that it reached the point where Adela cursed herself to become a dragon so she could kill Dawnrae, after Dawnrae herself had been cursed. They had a short battle and then quickly forgave each other for everything. Then Adela was allowed to be part of the clan of dragons and she and Dawnrae became so close of friends that they considered each other as sisters.
It seemed to happen kind of fast for me. Maybe I missed something.
As the story went on, Dawnrae had been facing her trials as a dragon for years. The loss of so many of her children got to her so bad that when she would lay anymore eggs, she roasted them before they ever got the chance to hatch. It... made me like her less as a character.
There was also this whole weird thing about Dawnrae praying to William for healing, prosperity, forgiveness, and many other things. That made me a little uncomfortable.
***End of spoilers***

Overall, it was a fine story. I recommend it to anyone who enjoys tragic romances, original fantasies, and stories about dragons.

A mixed bag or poor writing but great story.

Disclaimer: I was provided a copy of this book free of charge in exchange for an honest review.
I admit, right off the bat, that this is a touch book to review. My reason is that I feel the writing is insufficient for the story and the story likewise insufficient for the narration. Let me explain..
So we have twin brothers who play a 'harnless prank' that regrettably ends in the death of one of them and this leads the surviving brother to doubt his own sanity and become embroiled in a criminal incident.
The plot points are great, from the initial accident, the moments of fear and confusion through to understanding, revelations and resolution but the way it is written is often really, really poor. By this I mean there are moments where characters act in a manner, or have thought, totally nonsensical for their age.
There are also moments of such boring banality where I was left wondering if the book had an editor as huge section could easily have been dropped to streamline the story and make it flow so much better but the CORE of the story, the actual TALE it is telling is really good and I'd love to see a redites version of this story released.
And it is these problems that make the 3rd part, the narration, so hard to review. Chris, the narrator, is excellent. His expression, delivery and vocal work are all extremely good and I never once felt taken out of the tale as a result, but I really felt he had little to work with and this was not a good expression of his obvious ability. I suppose the best reviews I can give is that, if not for his excellent narration, I would never have been able to finish this story.
So I would say that, if you can me tally fill in the blanks and forgive the poor writing, the story here is great and it is an enjoyable read, more for the narrator than the book itself.

Great!

This is the second in the Identity series and is just as good if not better than the first. Mark and Thomas plan a prank that goes dreadfully wrong and results in Thomas losing his life, but he comes back as a ghost to "help" Mark and Thomas's girlfriend. It is funny in parts and entertaining throughout. A highly recommended listen. Chris Koprowski's narration is excellent once again and really brings the book to life. No hesitation in giving 5 stars.
I was kindly given a copy of the book by the narrator and leave this honest review voluntarily. *****

brilliant

I loved the narration of Chris Koprowski, he bought the characters to life, action, humour and suspense.

I really liked the concept behind this story and the story itself until the ending. The ending left too many unanswered questions. A very intriguing story about an adopted boy who makes a discovery that changes him completely. Very gripping and a definite "couldn't put it down!" recommended read. Chris Koprowski is a very good narrator who can really add excitement to the books he reads. *****

A secret twin takes on the siblings identity

Very enjoyable story of how a twin was kept apart from his family and later came to discover his origins.
Pleasant, clear narration.

The book started off kinda slow for me but after Benjamin finding Daniel and coming up with the plot to take over his life it became interesting! I thought he would be able to pull it off, and with how much of an asshole Daniel was I was rooting for him lol. The ending had me kinda of confused! Like was there a twin for real?? Was Daniel the real other brother? How long were the brothers switched? Did Molly know from the beginning? Lol my mind always goes 100 places

I really liked the concept behind this story and the story itself until the ending. The ending left too many unanswered questions. I felt sorry for Benjamin but didn't agree with what he did to get the happiness he felt he deserved. Certainly an interesting twist to adoption and being a twin. It amazes me Benjamin thought he could step into his brother's life so easy without anyone noticing the changes.

Reasons enjoyed book: Entertaining. Original. Page-turner. Tragic. Twisted.

My only issue.... The evil twin left too many loose ends and made mistakes. Why do they always get caught?

This was good. I was drawn in, even though the situation was ridiculous! Benjamin is an abused man. When his mother dies he finds out he is adopted. He hires a detective to find his birth family and when a brother is found he sets about to take over the mans life. Chris Koprowski was a fine narrator.I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

I was pulled into this story very quickly, Benjamin is a character who really hasn't had a fair life. After a revelation from someone who isn't who they said they were, Benjamin's life is changed forever. In the pursuit of a life he missed out on through no fault of his own, Benjamin gets pulled into a twisted path of murder. I felt incredibly sorry for Benjamin, all he wanted was the happiness he thought he deserved. Thoroughly enjoyed this book.

A Chillingly Absorbing Read (November 1, 2024)

With her final words before death, Benjamin's mother reveals that he is adopted. Not surprisingly, Benjamin feels betrayed, angry, etc, and wants answers. Who was his birth mother, and why was he adopted? He hires a private investigator to find out. This leads him to New York, and to discover a life he'd been missing. He feels betrayed and wants such a life, and he seems prepared to do anything to get it. A chillingly absorbing read. Why not try it for yourself?

it's one that I must have downloaded a couple of years ago it and somehow got lost ... but I was glad to rediscover it, as it's an entertaining and chillingly absorbing read. Link on Amazon
