Hobby: Crochet VS Knit (as seen on IG/FB)

Some of my followers like to crochet or knit. Are you one of them? We have something in common. I like to crochet. I've made a lot of clothes, a few blankets, and a couple stuffed animals. I love making hats. My favorite is the news boy pattern. It's so cool! Each thing I make gets a little better.

Did you know there's a difference between crochet and knit? If you look at the pictures, you'll see the biggest difference between the two. Crochet uses one "hook" and it usually has a hook at the end. Knitting doesn't have a "hook" on the ends and you use two when you knit something.

Since I don't knit, I don't know all the basics about the hobby. I'd love to hear your intake on knitting. Please comment below.

For crochet, you can actually use your fingers instead of hooks. I haven't done it, but I've seen many videos and it's totally awesome. A woman made a blanket using her fingers and really large weighted yarn. I've seen a lot of different techniques with crocheting too.

Both do use patterns. Some patterns can be found online or in books. You can make your own patterns. I like to make my own. That makes each thing you create more unique and you can make the item as big or small as you want! That's what I love the most about it.

Here are some samples of my work.

The bear was my first attempt at a stuffed animal. It was made for my granddaughter who has a pacemaker. The bear has a lump to represent a pacemaker. She loved that part. The hat was the fifth one I made with that pattern. I loved this one the best because it was so much better than the others I made.

I'd love to hear what you've made. Please comment below. Thank you!
