Hobbies: Building... (as seen on IG/FB)

Do you remember when I asked what hobbies you like to do? Well, one of the hobbies listed was building things. When you work on (let's say building cars for instance), how do you choose between types? There are so many to choose from like plastic or dicast, to name a couple.

Our neighbor builds small cars for his hobby. He uses dicast and he'll spray paint everything as he's building. As a reminder, if you paint anything be sure to take it outside because the fumes are dangerous. The models he uses, you can lift the engine cover revealing the engine. Some models don't allow this so I'm sure you'll have to read the box before purchase to make sure that is something you want or something you should avoid.

I did try this once, but my model was for beginners and it was plastic. I didn't finish this project because it wasn't something I was in to at the time. I'm not even sure where it came from lol. I just remember gluing the pieces together. It's been a long time since I attempted this hobby. I was still discovering myself at this time.

For those who do this for one of your hobbies, how did you choose cars to build? What was it that appealed to you? Do you build other things besides cars? What do you look for when buying a car? Do you keep everything you've built? Showcase them? I'd love to hear all about your hobby. Maybe one of the readers here will see this and pick up a new hobby for themselves. You could teach that person a thing or two. Thank you!!
